Austin NoSQL Camp -- Tentatively scheduled for Feb 2010
Last weekend, at DrupalCamp Austin, David Strauss, Rob Ristroph and I were speaking about our shared interest in some of the newer document databases, graph databases, the emerging "schema free" movement, etc. We decided that there is too much going on for a single presentation, and that it would be a good idea to hold a NoSQL Camp (facebook group)
I ran the idea by my fellow data geek buddies and the response was "When? Let's do it!"
What is NoSQL? Check out the NoSQL Wikipedia Entry.
We are tentatively looking to hold the event in February 2010. We have a few interested sponsors, but are seeking more. If you'd like to help organize, send a note to nosql@geekaustin.org.

Depending on date, I can volunteer to host it at the @OtherInbox offices.
I'm so there!
Looking forward to it!
I will be there -- what needs to be on the agenda ?
I am interested in this mainly from the point of view of performance. I have (and still am) working on various big websites where the speed of SQL queries can really restrict what you can do.
We should definitely start off with some sort of overview of all the things that are currently being talked about under the header of "nosql".
