Role Overview
The Sr. Linux Systems Engineer works as part of a team responsible for the design and delivery of the system architecture, server infrastructure management and advanced technical support. He/she also provides expert, technical leadership required to effectively deliver high-quality, timely IT solutions and services that meet EA’s business needs.
The Sr. System Engineer’s primary focus is to research, evaluate, plan, design, allocate, implement, support, optimize, and deliver all aspects of EA’s Online Game System Delivery infrastructure, while providing superior solutions for the Business IT.
Key Responsibilities
•Delivery of all systems needed to support online gaming, including web, application and database servers.
•Create and implement consolidated, multi-year Infrastructure plans
•Provides L3 (advanced) troubleshooting support; with accountability for resolution of outages, service level issues, and user support needs requiring collaboration.
•Excellent capabilities around capacity planning and analysis
•Monitor and analyze metrics in order to implement optimization strategies
•Ability to articulate end-to-end technical requirements across delivery functions
•Expert knowledge of technology and software design and deployment principles
•Defines best practices and technology roadmaps
•Evaluate new technology and techniques in order to improve systems infrastructure
•Drives and leads technical design services, requirements analysis, functional/ technical design leadership, and documentation/review with the business & IT.
•Drives continuous improvement - design, definition of roadmaps, standardization of processes and methodologies
•Must be able to conduct system analysis and translate user requirement into business solutions.
•Rotational Weekend 24 hours on call support
