In the role of Technical Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the architecture, design, development,
and implementation of the redesign of the Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS) in an agile software development environment. This includes design coordination with the PEIMS Maintenance project and the Statewide Longitudinal Data Systems project.

Our client is looking for a mid-level (5-7 yrs. experience) Oracle apps DBA to join their team. They are located here in Austin but also have offices nationwide, as well as internationally. This is a permanent/direct-hire opportunity with salary, benefits, paid vacation and growth potential. They are aggressively looking to hire this person by end of January at the latest but are doing interviews asap. Pay is DOE.
 

Key Responsibilities:

Technology Stewardship
• Demonstrates a sound understanding of functional / business objectives that drive and shape technology requirements and design deliverables
• Possesses, develops, and applies knowledge of trends, relevant system development technologies and methodologies
• In-depth experience in building/configuring/maintaining MySQL databases in SaaS and/or e-commerce environment
• Ensures quality and consistency of design, development (if applicable), testing, and integration testing cycles and deliverables, adhering to Architecture, PMO, and compliance guidelines
• Collaborates with other engineers and architects to drive guidelines, methodologies, and documentation
• Drives continuous improvement; may include design, definition of roadmaps, standardization of processes and methodologies
• Collaborates and maintains working relationships with appropriate technology vendor contacts and peer company contacts
 

The Sr QA Engineer is responsible for the overall quality of the FirstLook suite of SaaS applications and coordinating testing efforts across multi-office, multi-disciplinary Product Management, Engineering, and Account Management teams. You’ll be responsible for liaising with business stakeholders and engineers to insure quality throughout the product development lifecycle, from requirements development to production release. Additionally, you’ll act as an advocate for quality and engage the organization in establishing quality processes and metrics.
 

This position will focus on design and implementation of the middle and data tier of a web application that offers exposure to the very latest in Web 2.0 technologies. We work in a best-of-breed environment that includes a mix of Java (JSP/Spring/Hibernate), .Net 2.0 and Ruby on Rails applications. We are looking for a strong Java developer, to join a team building out and enhancing our flagship product which currently serves over 1000 customers. Exposure to Ruby on Rails and .Net is a strong plus. I currently have three senior level PeopleSoft Technical positions for a state agency in Austin. All positions require more than 6 years of technical knowledge with PeopleSoft, managing or leading a team, system administration and support.

Responsibilities:
• Lead the architecture and design of new features
• Work with the Product Managers to determine the viability of ideas for new product features
• Create design documents from requirements
• Provide technical oversight of the development team’s work
• Generate and own the development schedule
• Use industry standard development methods for source control, feature design, time estimation, and problem tracking

We’re seeking a candidate with strong technical knowledge and aptitude to fill an amazing Network Engineering opportunity. This position includes the opportunity to work with network, systems, and VoIP technologies in a fast paced and exciting environment. Current environment includes Cisco ACE, GSS, ICM, IPCC, Unity, ASA, and other standard Cisco equipment for routing and switching. Qualified candidates will have an existing working knowledge of some of these technologies with the ability and ambition to continue to sharpen their skills in both the networking and systems arenas.
