e-commerce Project Manager
Optaros Austin is seeking an energetic, ambitious, and motivated Project Manager / Program Manager who is a master of managing ecommerce projects, teams, and deliverables. The Project Manager will be managing key projects for large well-known clients (our clients include Walmart, Coach, Bloomingdales, Macy's, Puma, Rue La La...). Here are some of the top skills for the Project Manager:
•The ideal candidate has roots as a developer (or a CS/Engineering degree) and progressed into a project management role.
•experience working in a fixed price / fixed time environment
•Agile experience. PMP/PMI not required.
•Experience in the ecommerce space and familiarity with back office integrations. If you have this experience, please make it clear on your resume, as this is a key differentiator.
•A real people manager who has managed projects with internal and external techies (Technical Architects, developers, UX people, Business Analysts, etc...). The Project Manager will be the glue between these teams)
•Someone who has managed projects for large clients (ideally retail / etail / ecommerce clients).
Summary: Project Managers orchestrate/drive/lead client projects using our proven agile delivery approach, the Optaros Assembly Methodology (OptAM). Project Managers shape client engagements, to define the scope and effort of all of our projects. A Project Manager leads project teams. Project Managers manage the client relationship at the senior level and have a high-level of commitment to client success.
•6+ years experience on technical project teams or in product development or professional services environments in support or delivery-related roles; 3+ years in project leadership roles
•Experience in custom application development and all phases of the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
•Experience in planning, organizing, and executing projects of varying complexity, delivering them within specified timeframes and budgets; previous experience managing projects of similar size in a systems integration environment
•Ability to define and ensure objective measures of complex programs and experience in tracking and assessing projects based on project plans, budgets and resources
•Experience in one of more of the following business solutions: media and publishing, consumer products, e-commerce, on-line customer support, knowledge management and collaboration
•Interest in and passion for web development and open source software (e.g. JBoss, MySQL, Apache, LAMP, Alfresco)
•Rapid Iteration experience; CRM experience; working knowledge of PHP, Java, Python is a plus
•Understanding of broad aspects of Project Management: Systems Analysis, Training, Infrastructure, Code development/testing
•Experience leading requirements gathering sessions and establishing task prioritization
•Extensive understanding of Fixed Price project planning and delivery is a plus
•Experience guiding hiring, training and employee development practices within a team and project-based environment
Consulting Experience:
•Motivated to drive excellence in service delivery, methodology, and operations (track record of managing successful projects)
•Ability to manage client expectations and manage scope throughout the lifecycle of the project; constantly and consistently communicate with the client and schedule, hold and lead client meetings as necessary
•The ability to identify key influencers (on the client side) and develop a strong partnership throughout the lifecycle of the project
•Ability to partner with Technical Architects and Technical Leads to understand and communicate the technical foundation of each project
•Bias and ability to partner with the client and team to problem solve
•Expert level experience in analyzing business goals and metrics, understanding best practices while maintaining clients’ strategic direction
•Able to meet or exceed established revenue goals (business development and utilization)
•Excellent communicator (facilitation, presentation, verbal and written)
