GeekAustin hosts the WP Engine Launch Party

Austin serial entrepreneur and favorite SmartBear, Jason Cohen (@asmartbear), along with Cullen Wilson (@cullenw) and Aaron Brazell (@technosailor) have just launched WP Engine. Jason has been telling me about the progress over the last several months, and I've been waiting for the right moment to pop the question...

What's the question?

When's the Party going to be?

Jason, Cullen, and I (Aaron couldn't make it) met for breakfast on Friday to finalize the details. We picked the Wednesday, November 3rd for the launch party. It's enough time to recover from Halloween yet it's not quite into the holiday season.

and where's the Party going to be?

When the RSVPs first started coming in, I realized we were going to need a bigger venue. I contacted Sky and Cody at The Phoenix and told them about the event, and they said yes!.

I been wanting to host a party at The Phoenix. It's a beautiful room, and I can't think of a better occasion for our first event there. Austin is home to over a thousand WordPress users, and The Phoenix is big enough to hold a good portion of them - but don't wait to RSVP.

What is WP Engine?

WP Engine makes your WordPress site fast, secure, and scalable. WP Engine also has an exclusive feature called “staging.” Here’s how it works: Before you make a scary change to your blog, click the “snapshot” button. WP Engine makes a complete copy of your blog and set it up in a separate, safe area. These are only some of the features. Check out the WP Engine Features Page for more.

Hope to see you at the party, and don't forget to RSVP at EventBrite!
